Cough, Cough

I swear I'll come back and post pictures. I came down with a cold last Monday, which rapidly progressed to ear and throat infections, and despite the antibiotic I can't seem to shake this. Peanut got the cold too, but is not as sick. Big Daddy had one too, but is also almost healthy again. I missed a day and a half of work, the first week of my new position--that's how sick I was. I actually missed another day too, but so did everybody, as we had a snowstorm hit that day so everybody stayed home. I was home alone with Peanut (Big Daddy in Minneapolis, and the weather too bad to drive across town to my mom's), and I forced her to watch TV because I just couldn't keep up with her (did I mention she is really getting around on that scooter?) Yes, I was so sick that I was pleading with her to watch The Heffalump Movie one more time instead of getting up and coloring with her. Again, that's why I titled the blog the way I did.

The good news about Peanut is that she has tested out of speech therapy! She will get another visit in a month, and then either monthly or less often. Her vocabulary is actually advanced for her age, and her pronunciation has improved to the point where she can be understood almost half the time, which is par for the course at this age. When we started last summer, she said about four words, though she had several signs. Now, she sings Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star. She's so cool.

If you're the praying type, you might want to say one for the people of Guinsaugon, in the Phillipines. It's just unfathomable what has happened to them.
