It's been linked to all over. "Weird news" sites too. How do you teach your child she's not a freak when respected news organizations the world over seem to disagree?
I don't have the energy anymore to write to every place that picked it up, but I will try again tonight.

You teach your kid that 95% of the general population are ignorant. Just plain ignorant. Ignorant of other people's predicaments, problems, lifestyles, ailments, beliefs, etc.
In this case, the news team just needed a catchy title to grab as much news as the "mermaid" baby did last year. Sadly, it worked. If the title had read "Baby born with arthrogryposis in Peru," then only about 1/20th of the people would have read that article.
You can only hope that the sensational news coverage will at least help gather funds for that child to undergo the necessary medical treatments he will need.
I am surprised you didn't touch on it in your first blog, but I am more mortified at the child's father than Reuters. How can he disown his own son simply because he did not look perfect?
